I was born and raised in the Meadville area and graduated from Saegertown High School. I then attended Allegheny College for 3 1/2 years before having to discontinue my education for health reasons. Within the year I was able to train in cytotechnology at the University of Rochester and work in their cytology department for a year. Following my tenure at Rochester I moved to Mansfield, Ohio and continued my education culminating in registration in the American Society of Clinical Pathology as a medical technologist. I worked as a medical technologist for the next 38 years.

As a child I spent many hours in the woods and fields around my home and learned to love nature under the tutelage of my father and uncle. My mother taught me how to care for a barrage of cats that I brought home and my dog. I can't remember not loving animals.

Several years ago I met David and Regina at a Pennsylvania Equine Council meeting and started volunteering at Hog Heaven. I have been volunteering there most Tuesday afternoons ever since. I hope, through working with David and Regina, to be able to reach out to people and educate them on the proper treatment and care of animals making their lives better.
